A notable achievement of the branch is the successful organization of Metagenesis, a 3-day flagship event held last year, which saw the participation of 100 attendees. The IEEE KMEA SPS Chapter further distinguished itself by winning the Emerging Chapter Award. Through the collective efforts of its chapters, IEEE KMEA SB continues to serve as a dynamic platform for learning and innovation, significantly benefiting the student community.

Welcome to METAGENESIS 2.0, the IEEE SPS Chapter's latest initiative focused on Signal Processing for Audio Applications. This innovative program dives into the remarkable advancements in audio signal processing, where deep learning and machine learning are reshaping how we understand and utilize sound. With sessions spanning topics such as speech recognition, music analysis, emotion detection, and sound synthesis, METAGENESIS 2.0 promises a hands-on learning experience backed by cutting-edge research and practical insights. The initiative includes interactive workshops and technical talks, beginning with the fundamentals of deep learning and progressing to real-time applications in audio processing. Highlights include sessions on speech analysis and separation, musical signal classification, emotion and sentiment analysis, and the application of transfer learning to enhance audio tasks. Designed for faculty, researchers, and enthusiasts, METAGENESIS 2.0 offers a vibrant platform for networking, collaboration, and professional growth. IEEE SPS Kerala Chapter
The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Kerala Chapter is a lively, close-knit community, honored globally as the Best Chapter of the Year among all IEEE SPS branches worldwide. Our team includes 23 dedicated student leaders and 17 seasoned professionals—three of them VOLT graduates—all working under the guidance of an advisory body that brings clarity and direction to our vision. Together, we shape every event with purpose and creativity, striving to leave a genuine impact on this beautiful world, driven by something so uniquely human. Our chapter’s dedication is evident in the flourishing SPS student branches across Kerala, where we build lasting connections and share knowledge through regular collaborations. We’ve celebrated wins in prestigious ICIP and ICASSP video-making competitions, and some of our members are now part of the organizing team for ICASSP 2025, reflecting a commitment that reaches far beyond our region. Working hand in hand with other IEEE section chapters, we are building a network that reaches from the grassroots of Kerala to the world.
